Ikuyama Ai is a professional origami artist whose works have been displayed in the exhibits of art galleries multiple times over the past four years. Despite this, she’s been a recluse until a few short months before getting invited to Hope’s Peak, taking credit for all previous work created. She is known for having been highly reclusive and her creations of complex and highly detailed origami models that are labour intensive to produce. Her most popular models are the ones that represent human figures in motion and her various animals.
Hagiho Chōju, a child known for being the youngest children born into the prestigious and wealthy Hagiho family who has actually made big accomplishments already attracted attention by the time they were born and have they have been in the public eye for as long as they remember! They also are the youngest well-known figure in the world of the horticultural and gardening arts and are, professionally, known for their amazing green thumb and, having risen to fame for their common yet masterful use of topiary and grafting to bend and shape trees and bushes into marvelous forms and works of art! They are able bring life into the dullest of gardens, a feat which demonstrates just how much Chōju goes unrivaled when it comes to embellishing any green spaces!
Possessing a noble goal to return green space to cities and, hopefully one day, countries that urgently need them, Chōju has proven themselves to be one of the top figures who support nature, not only dedicating their life to the world of horticulture
and gardening and everything green to the point of even becoming a vegetarian themselves, but they are also an avid donor of money to charities and causes that protect nature and the ecosystem. After a surprising first-place victory at the Cadet Circuit Tournament when she was 15, Cecile’s reputation was sealed, and she was almost guaranteed a spot on the French Olympic team the next year. However, she inexplicably surfaced in the Japanese fencing scene, and is rumored to have signed on with their Olympic team instead. While the reasoning behind this change is debated, one thing cannot be denied- Cecile is one of, if not the best cadet fencers in the world.

A young beekeeper who originally began her work as a hobby between her and her grandfather on his farm. Growing to love nature and bees respectively, Honeya Hachinoko quickly grew to become obsessed with what had originally been her hobby as a child. Through extensive research and sheer luck, Honeya isolated a specific queen bee pheromone that worked as a means of calming a hive, no matter how aggressive they were. From there she created a perfume spray that she and other beekeepers could use to keep their bees calm and friendly. It sold out in minutes they day she’d posted them on her own personal store website. Honeya then moved on from there to breed a new strain of disease resistant and overall more hardy line of bees. Renowned among fellow beekeepers and farmers alike worldwide, Hachinoko Honeya was greatly admired for her skills and intuition as a beekeeper. The honey that’s produced from her hives also tends to be of high quality and coveted by all sweet lovers both in Japan and overseas.

If someone is talking about cosplay, the name Hanamoto Kaya or Magical☆Girl Justina is bound to come up in one way or another. As a celebrated idol in this particular field, Kaya is incredibly famous for her detailed cosplays and impersonating skills. Her breakthrough for a large-scale audience was her Celestial☆Aurora cosplay from the same-titled magical girl anime in Comiket three years ago. Not only was the anime highly popular - and still continues to be with it’s sequels and spin-offs -, her presentation of the character had caught an insane amount of attention throughout the fair as well. Since then, her fanbase practically exploded and she gets invited to conventions from all over the world. Her fame also gets her quite a stunning amount of comissions for cosplays, which she sews all by herself. Coupled with her obsession for magical girls and overall eccentric nature, she’s a person who can be hardly ignored. This, along with her unusual cosplay at Jump Festa as The Empress from the fantasy anime Journey to Oblivion, got her noticed by Hope’s Peak and as soon as Kaya saw the invitation, she gladly accepted her new high school life as the Super High School Level Cosplay Idol.
Hidden among the mountains, the Aoyama family dojo has stood for nearly two centuries now. Over the years, the dojo has garnered a reputation for itself that has drawn students from all over Japan, all of them wishing to be taught the ways of the samurai. One of many of these students is Daichi Aoyama, not only a star student and reigning champion, but also the eldest son of the Aoyama family and heir apparent to the dojo. At the age of fifteen, Daichi defeated his father in combat and has gone on to best multiple masters of the craft, all of whom have traveled to the mountains specifically to meet the young prodigy famous for his new and unorthodox ways of fighting.
Maeda Shiruku was born in Tokyo, Japan, into a state of moderate poverty– which, as time came to pass, she began to sew away as she picked up commissions and gained recognition as a seamstress throughout Japan. Famous particularly for her dress designs, she was branded the SHSL Seamstress at the age of fifteen. Notorious for her cutesy, clumsy persona, she weaves an almost perfect image to replicate. Currently lives on the edge of Tokyo, and makes a living off her work as a seamstress.

Earning his fame by editing the videos of acclaimed youtube celebrity Mizushima Haruto, Takeshi’s editing prowess has been renowned all over Japan, as well as places like America and England. Years of practice and perfecting has sculpted the boy’s editing style into one of highly-praised familiarity. Takeshi never fails to make a video look professional and polished, and is well acquainted with nearly every video editing software available. Sound, color, flow, quality, all elements that Takeshi masterfully modifies in order to create the most eye-catching, crowd-pleasing, magnificent video possible.
Youtube has been rising as a media source in recent years, and although it’s mostly a cesspool, some have managed to make their fame from it. One such example? Mizushima Haruto, also known by his channel name of PINKSQUID. Alongside his best friend (who edits his videos) Morishima Takeshi, he’s managed to attract viewers from all over the world. With a variety of videos, and his cute and charismatic persona, Haruto has something for everyone somewhere in his channels. Off-screen, however, that’s a bit of a different story.
Miyamoto Hotaru is a Japanese video game designer and developer. She is best known as the creator of the popular puzzle-horror RPG series Phantom Call, although her works extend beyond the genre. She initially rose to fame due to her development and publishing of the initial game in the series at age 13, causing the game to quickly rise to the bestseller list. She began developing her games, along with her friends, under the name The Parasol Corporation
After the hiatus of popular barista Miyazawa Shohei his signature blends were thought to be lost to the world. However, the sudden reemergence of the renowned prodigy was found in the most unlikely of places, Taketoyo, Aichi prefecture, Japan. Far from the United States where his popularity skyrocketed him into nigh celebrity status. Although what most people hadn’t expected upon arrival was the dethroning of the widely acclaimed “coffee genius” by a high school girl who went by Mifune Koharu. Apprenticing under Miyazawa, Mifune took the crown from under the prestigious prodigy and made herself renowned to not only Japan, but the world. Koharu’s signature blends alongside her fastidious and captivating personality made her on par, if not better, than Shohei prior to his hiatus.

The star pupil of Tokyo’s upscale and prestigious Natsume Academy will now be attending Hope’s Peak. Miyama Maya, the Super High School Level Student Council President, has been featured in the media several times for her astounding leadership capabilities. Her ability to motivate her fellow students is quite amazing. While none of Natsume Academy’s students wish to comment on how she does it, Maya’s own comments are treated as inspiring. Her words: “We work together for a brighter future. There’s no ‘I’ in ‘team,’ after all.”
A film is like machine: countless moving parts have to be brought together in order to succeed. Shiori Kida may just be a single cog in the grand scheme of cinema, but he performs his function with unmatched zeal and skill. Praised for his stylistic designs and attention to fine detail, Shiori’s costumes have become an iconic mark of the films he’s worked on. He’s not known for being the nicest in the business, but he’s certainly acknowledged as one of the best. In show business, his reputation precedes him as a bossy and harsh, yet diligent and extremely enthusiastic artistic mind.
Yano Masashi is a Japanese aromatherapist from Atami, Shizuoka. Yano is known for being the most talented teenage aromatherapist in all of Japan. At only 15 years of age, Yano opened up an online store where he sold his aromatherapeutic products all over the country.
Yano’s online store, Yano Aromas, was able to rake in a baffling 500000¥ in its first year alone. After the wild success of Yano Aromas, Masashi Yano was recruited to attend Hope’s Peak Academy. Rumor has it that Yano is following in the footsteps of Kisumi Shirai, a former SHSL Fashion Designer at the academy, who may be Yano’s Uncle.
Yano has opened up an on-site location for Yano Aromas in Atami, but, according to Yano, he hopes to open up several more locations all over Japan. Yano’s parents, Ai and Kunio Yano, have also confided that when Yano graduates, the family has plans to expand the company to other countries as well.
While famous in Japan for her skill in entomology, Mikka isn't known world wide, mostly because she can’t afford to travel where she wants to go. She attends Hope’s Peak Academy in hopes of being able to travel to the far reaches of the world in order to find new species of insects.
Masaki Kaede is a rising star soccer player with a number of schools desperate to hand him scholarships. He has incredible hand eye coordination, and his speed on the field is unmatched. While also being an incredible offensive player, he is an amazing motivator, and has stated in interviews he never tries to outplay his teammates. He’s well aware he could carry his team with ease, but purposefully handicaps his skills for the sake of maintaining a better sense of teamwork. He seemed to drop off the face of the earth last playing season, just before the final match in the national tournament. This disappearance lead to his team losing in the finals, but there doesn’t seem to be any sources as to what cause him to skip out.

Kazuo is well known among aeronautical engineers as one of, if not the youngest pilots and aeronautical engineers in Japan. Despite this, very few casual pictures have been documented of the 18 year old prodigy. Although he is the oldest child, there have been no expectations for Kazuo to take over the company business, many believing his little brother to be the heir to the ‘Oshiro throne’.
Koji Niji, born June 30th, is widely known in the world of art for their studies and theories on the meanings, psychological influences, and spiritual implications of colors and color palettes. Not much is known about Koji’s origin, other than the fact that they are Japanese. A popular rumor suggests that Koji was once homeless, living on the streets of Harajuku. Inspired by the fashion and aesthetic scenery of Harajuku, Koji took it upon themselves to research color and study the ways people react to it. They backpacked through the country, visiting all sorts of art museums and recording people’s reactions to the art there. Their studies and observations are now being taught at art institutes and in psychology courses around the globe. Koji is also famous for their online art blog, The World of Color, and pioneering the Pantone-like company, Sroloc. Koji is currently attending Hope’s Peak Academy in Japan as the Super High School Level Color Theorist.
Yoshisaki Norio is the only child to famous politician, Yoshisaki Atushi. He was born into the spotlight of wealth and power. His parents expected nothing but greatness from him as well. He was a shy but curious boy who stuck to his mother’s side but he enjoyed going to events with his family. Early on in his lifetime, he excelled in strategy games such as chess. Norio was expected to become the junior champion but due to stress and family issues, he dropped this interest. He hasn’t been seen playing competitively since his early childhood.
In his later childhood, he became a bit more secluded and focused more on his schoolwork than on social gathering and the media. After a few years, he only really appeared in speech tournaments where he took home the title several times for his division. Much like chess, Norio seemed to be gifted in speaking. Likely because of his father’s influences on him and the heavy political topics he grew up around, he went on to study law. He quickly caught up with those much older than him.
Norio, under supervision of his mentors and teachers, has helped win numerous cases. He has proven the innocence of even the most difficult clients. Even of the public has twisted the view of a client, he has managed to win the jury. Like his father, it is clear that Norio is both talented and powerful.
TamagoYuki is the cat’s meow, the dog’s bark, the crow’s caw, and the fish’s blub! Overnight the young fursuiter attracted the spotlight in the furry community after one of their suits gained resounding attention at a major convention in Japan. Since then, Tamago has become best known for their artwork, impeccable fursuits, and their Fursona- Yuki the Foxcoon. Tamago has even gone as far as making adjustments to the current way fursuits are made that decrease the chance of overheating. This helped gain the attention of Hope’s Peak Academy and landed them an invitation to the prestigious school.
Given the nickname of ‘Scarlet Devil’, Akemi has made a name for herself as a prodigy amongst professional chess players. Coming from the highly prestigious Ueyama family, Akemi is feared as both a goddess and a menace. She has not lost a single match in her entire life. She holds the position of Japan’s national chess champion, having beaten the title’s previous holder in the Japanese Chess Championship. An opening move was later named after her - Akemi’s Gambit.
The media has certainly given her the spotlight for her achievements. Akemi’s confidence can be seen in several magazines and even a few front covers. Despite the attention that she’s clearly reveling in, she’s revealed very little about her personal life. She has no siblings, she has been playing professionally for 4 years and she is completely self-taught. Oh, and...
...Her mother, Haru Ueyama, happened to be the national champion before her.
The mangaka who, since its debut three years ago, has penned the breakout masterpiece Arcane: a monthly shounen manga about modern teenagers with powers inherited from past lives as generals in a mystical and forgotten land. After posting the first several chapters publically online, he was immediately asked by a prolific publishing company to allow them the rights to release his work. He’s also the heir to Shinobu Electronics, which was previously run by his father Hiroshi Shinobu until his untimely death. Supposedly his mother is now the current CEO, but she hasn’t been seen publicly since Hiroshi’s funeral. Hibiki is a reclusive individual himself, but appears to be kind enough whenever interacting with fans.
Yuhara Masumi is a self proclaimed “digital vigilante” that went by the name of HIRANO from an unknown area of Japan. He is responsible for the ultimate capture of over thirty different criminals after he cornered them by hacking into their bank accounts and personal accounts to pinpoint their exact location with the use of GPS signals from devices he knows they possess from his data mining. Though he has never worked against the police, he has also rarely worked for them, preferring to act more as a vigilante or mercenary than employee. The police admit to having employed his services on more than one occasion for a very hefty price when they had been backed into a corner.
Yuhara has only done one interview in the span of his six year “career” and it was the month after his largest case which he dubbed “The Marionnette Marauders Pursuit Omega” where he assisted in the arrest of a group of drug dealers who had recently had a deal go wrong and ended in the death of a
thirty-five year old politician by the name of Oteki Toshiko. He admitted that he’s done things that skirt on the edge of legality including visiting the deep web for that case and even hacking into detective’s personal files, but only if they aroused suspicion. He says he received permission from the department to do anything he needed and it was unfortunate that the department failed to mention things typically considered “illegal” didn’t fall into that category.
Takahashi Anri is a 16 year old Japanese bestselling author, with 15 million copies of his works in print. Having more than 64 romance novels published, he is still releasing new works to this day. Anri’s first published book “Rebel Foe,” spent 20 consecutive weeks as a bestseller and propelled him into the eye of the public in a matter of weeks. He is adored by many of his fans for creating characters that are refreshingly different from other romance novels, while still remaining relatable to the audience. All of his works feature drawings of his characters that Anri has illustrated himself, which have laid the foundation for a large online following to create fan content for his novels.
Tsukino Yuki is a rising name in the world of sports. Coming from a family known for their physical prowess, the young athlete is well known for his incredibly speed through the community. Yuki has even acquired quite the fan base thanks to their looks and their cool yet stoic appearance. After his recent victory at the IAAF Youth World Championships in both the 100m and 200m races, with world record breaking times no less, Yuki's popularity has certainly been on the rise in the media. After having achieved a time under 10 seconds for the 100m race it came as no surprise when Yuki had finally caught the interest of Hope's Peak Academy. It was even rumored that the young sprinter would be attending the Olympics itself before he got invited to HPA. Yuki's fame and success can only go upwards from here!
Zeycan was born in Istanbul to a pair of dancers. Their only other child, her older brother Altair, was also a dancer. It should be no surprise the eventual fate Zeycan chose. While her dance was a bit less traditional than what the rest of her family had chosen, she was still supported and loved. Already being in the public eye because of her parents, it was very easy for Zeycan to achieve fame and she became very well loved throughout most of the Marmara region. They attracted people from all walks of life. Altair and Zeycan flourished under their parents’ wings. And when the time came to fly, Zeycan made the decision to take her show to Japan, a country she was always interested in.
Hitomu, known more commonly by their alias “Nyakuma”, has what some might consider a peculiarly large cult following. Fans are drawn in by their flashy style and arcade gaming skills, but most specifically by their unmatchable expertise with the notoriously infamous crane machine. They are especially well known among the Tokyo arcade community for exposing an arcade for rigging many of their prize giving games to be unbeatable. This incident has given them a status as a sort of ‘hero’ to the community.
